MEET ROB

Consistent Results, Transparent Leadership

Rob and his wife Sarah, a radiologist employed by Advanced Radiology, have lived in Woodbridge for about fifteen years. They enjoy the community, Beecher Road School for their two daughters, and our town’s green spaces. Rob practices law as a partner with Getz Balich LLC. He also serves as President of the Judge Janet Bond Arterton Inn of Court, and as incoming Vice President of the Connecticut Intellectual Property Law Association (CIPLA). Both groups are focused on education, including programming supportive of our children and young lawyers. Locally, Rob has served as a Justice of the Peace for ten years and has recently joined the Woodbridge Rotary.

Prior to joining Getz Balich, Rob worked for twelve years as in-house counsel at Energizer and Edgewell, both global companies with household and consumer products like those branded BANANA BOAT®, SCHICK®, BILLIE®, PLAYTEX® and CAREFREE®. There Rob oversaw the global intellectual property team, negotiated commercial contracts, supported global real estate transactions, developed workflows, and implemented legal software systems. He was also responsible for global litigation updates to senior leadership. Over his tenure, Rob was positioned as project lead on a number of cross-functional business projects, developing strategies tailored to achieving specific company goals. He worked closely with corporate finance and is well practiced with zero-based budgeting. Rob’s experience with budget management and restructuring projects will be helpful as the town faces budgetary pressures, infrastructure needs, and land use decisions.

While at Edgewell, Rob served as the inaugural Co-Leader of the Cultural Awareness, Respecting Everyone (“C.A.R.E.”) group, and was a member of the Women and Individuals Supporting Equality (“W.I.S.E.”) group. As the son of a Connecticut public school teacher, Rob has a keen understanding of the critical importance of fully supporting faculty and students in our schools. He is a former collegiate distance runner, ran while pursuing both his engineering and legal degrees, and continues to run for exercise and pleasure today. If elected Rob will bring his commitment to teamwork and to building-up those around him both to Town Hall and to the community.
