Smart Growth

ACGW_FINAL_VERSION 2.png
Smart growth is an overall approach of development and conservation strategies that can help protect our health and natural environment and make our communities more attractive, economically stronger and resilient
to climate change.
- “About Smart Growth.” U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, n.d.  Accessed from U.S. EPA website.

Rob Rosasco and his team are committed to the pursuit of smart growth in Woodbridge. Mica Cardozo has demonstrated a relentless focus on vastly increasing the amount of housing in town. This misguided effort threatens many aspects of Woodbridge’s historically high quality of life without any thoughtful analysis as to the impact on such matters as: schools, open space, town services, or the budget. Nowhere is this Administration’s failure in this regard more evident than in the fostering of a four story 96-unit apartment building proposed for construction at 804 Fountain Street.

By contrast, A Common Ground for Woodbridge will achieve housing diversity by encouraging Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and small, affordable mixed-use development. This approach avoids overwhelming our town’s infrastructure and will not sacrifice our open space. These and other proven strategies, implemented successfully by other towns, can diversify our housing stock while maintaining town services and benefiting the town as a whole, NOT predatory developers.

A team with diverse political affiliations representing ALL of Woodbridge.
